Athletics Report
Three Spring Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent
The final NCAA Signing Day ceremony took place last Wednesday morning, with three more outstanding Monarchs making commitments to four-year universities. The feel-good factor was high, as usual, in the Monarch Room as seniors Julia Lemak, Lindsey Goubeaux, and Erika Yeager put pen to paper to continue their athletic careers next year.
Lemak, the one of the outstanding distance runners in CCS, is the current WCAL women's cross-country individual champion, and will be looking to add to her trophy cabinet in a couple of weeks at the league track champions. She will compete in both cross-country and track at the University of California, Davis.
Goubeaux and Yeager, are both members of our league leading softball team, with the pair forming a potent part of the squad's outstanding infield. Goubeaux, who leads the team with 14 RBI's on the year, will study and play next season at Oregon State. Yeager, who has 13 RBI's of her own, signed her NLI to play for the University of Rhode Island.
The trio of signings brings this year's total of Monarch NLI signees to 19. Job well done, one and all!
